A version of culture wars over how sex education is taught in Ottawa schools dominated the regular Ottawa School Board meeting last night. Some patrons have complained about what they see as too much promotion of abortion and other issues, which school officials say is not true and is probably a misunderstanding of what they’re trying to accomplish. School Superintendent Doctor Ryan Cobbs says one principle is the foundation of their efforts:
Cobbs says school officials must be neutral and provide all the information, without trying to get into personal viewpoints on specific issues.
