If you have driven on the Kansas turnpike since July 1st, you know that there are no longer any toll booths and you don’t have to stop to pay the toll for the road. The Kansas Turnpike Association upgraded to a cashless tolling system on the first of this month, and their new toll payment system is now operational. You can use the web site ‘drive k s dot com, or you can call customer service, 1-800-use k-tag, visiting a walk in customer service center in Wichita, Topeka or Lawrence, or by mail.
Your car tag is now read by a machine at toll plazas and if you do not have K-tag or take care of the toll in person, or online, a billing statement will be mailed to you. The first toll statements will be mailed out late this month or early August. The old toll booths are being decommissioned and drivers are urged to use caution as work crews complete the process.
