The Franklin County Conservation District is now accepting nominations from the public for the Kansas Banker Awards for potential awardees in Franklin County. The awards provide recognition of farmers, ranchers, and landowners who have completed projects designed to improve environmental quality or conserve natural resources. There are six categories. Soil conservation, energy conservation, water conservation, water quality, wildlife and windbreak awards. Each award recognizes someone that seeks to promote conservation in the given award criteria, or have taken measures to improve and protect certain aspects of the land.
Nomination emails must include name of nominee, mailing address and or farm address, category being nominated for and description of how nominee fits the category for recognition and name of person submitting nomination. All nominations should be submitted to the Franklin County Conservation District website: fccdks.org. The deadline for nominations is July 31st.
