It’s July in Kansas and most days, when it’s not raining, its hot with the sun bearing down at full strength. Some love the heat, but, protecting yourself from the dangerous skin cancer causing UV rays the sun throws at us is important. Frontier Extension Agent Rod Schaub says you might think light colored clothes would be best to protect yourself from the UV rays, but, he says, think again:

Remember, no single type of sun protection is complete in and of itself; the skin cancer foundation advises you to use clothing, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and shade together for all-around sun safety.
