An attempt by several neighbors to stop a home building project at 818 West 10th Street and 822 West 10th Street has failed, so far. The Ottawa Planning Commission recommended approving rezoning the locations to allow the construction of new houses by Van Knight Homes. One neighbor, Julie Dandreo, said it would take away form an otherwise quiet neighborhood:
The Planning commission nevertheless approved recommending the project to the Ottawa City Commission, which has the final decision on the project.
