Osawatomie Public Works Director Michele Silsbee has transitioned into a new role within the city of Osawatomie. As of July 1st, Ms. Silsbee is serving as Deputy City Manager and manages the city’s hard infrastructure departments, including Public Works and Utilities.
She joined the city as Public Works Director in July 2023 and hit the ground running with several critical infrastructure improvement projects, including the full depth reconstructions of Brown Avenue and 6th Street. Prior to joining Osawatomie, she worked for the city of Olathe and the city of Hutchinson. She received an Associate’s Degree in Biology/Chemistry from Hutchinson Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from McPherson College, and a Master’s of Public Administration from the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs at Wichita State University.
