he splash pad in City Park has been a big hit for Ottawans looking to cool off a bit in the summer heat. It seems there is always people there during the day. A few weeks ago, the chair of the Ottawa Planning Commission, Cal Lantis, made a bold statement about the pad:
The official ribbon cutting for the splash pad will be this morning, July 30th, at the splash pad on the corner of Park and Hickory Streets, at 10:00. The public is welcome to attend, as the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and city officials dedicate the pad. The weather is perfect fo it, so who knows, maybe we’ll see Mayor Mike Skidmore and others try out the feature.
