Given the good weather recently, renovation of old 50 highway is moving at a good pace. Franklin County Public Works Director Jeff Welton says so far so good, but he is asking for one thing from motorists traveling the highway:
Welton says the first four miles will be widened to 24 feet and the rest of the highway may be widened only at certain locations where leaving it at its current width could be dangerous. Work is expected to wrap up in October.
