Two people were sent to the hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash involving an EMS vehicle on K-31 in Osage County. At 7:43 Friday evening, August 2nd, a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Clinton Fagan, of Shawnee and an Osage County Fire/EMS vehicle driven by 62-year-old Gary Kitt , of Melvern, were traveling westbound on K-31 in Osage County. Fagan pulled to the right shoulder to make a u-turn. Meanwhile, the EMS vehicle was going to a call and had their emergency lights and sirens on. Fagans vehicle made an illegal u-turn in front of the emergency vehicle. Kitt swerved to the left to try and avoid a collision, but could not avoid the crash, and the two vehicles collided. Fagans vehicle stopped in the lane of travel, while the EMS vehicle went into the north ditch. Both drivers were taken to Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries.
