The race for Kansas 2nd Congressional District was close, but in the end, former Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt won out over challengers Jeff Kahrs and Shawn Tiffany; Schmidt garnering 53% of the vote, Kahrs 20% and Tiffany 18%. Schmidt on the win:
The Democratic party’s primary in the 2nd District featured former U. S. Representative Nanay Boyda of Baldwin and newcomer Matt Kleinman. Boyda won the primary, receiving 52% of votes to Kleinmann’s 48%. Schmidt and Boyda will face off in the November General Election.
