Ottawa police are investigating an incident that happened recently that damaged up to 45 vehicles. Officers were called to an area between West 3rd and West 6th streets from Elm to Willow on a report of someone using a paintball gun to splatter cars. On arrival they discovered that about 45 vehicles had been hit by some type of paint ball. After the investigation, officers believe the vehicles were hit by a substance similar to glowbies throwable paint. Fortunately, it does not appear that any of the vehicles suffered permanent damage in the attack.
They do ask that if anyone locates permanent damage to a vehicle to report it immediately to the police department. You can use the online reporting system on the city of Ottawa’s website, use the non emergency line of 785-242-1700, or come to the police station to file a report. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the department also.
