The Louisburg Police Department is investigating a theft involving a former employee of the Timbercreek Bar and Grill. If you happened to visit the restaurant between July 31st and August 16th and used a credit card or debit card to purchase food and drinks, police says you may have had your information stolen.
Louisburg Police Chief Josh Weber, says the woman was altering the amount on the actual receipt and in some cases taking credit card numbers to use later to buy products in other places. So far, about 40 people have been impacted. The female employee was taken into custody and interviewed and police are working with the Miami County Attorney. Weber says it depends on the dollar amount and number of people who come forward – if the former employee could see charges in municipal or district court.
Regardless, Weber reminds people to regularly check your bank statements, and said don’t leave behind the customer copy of your receipt. Police are asking anyone that has used their credit card at Timbercreek Bar and Grill in the last few weeks to check their receipts and if you notice anything irregular to contact police immediately.
