Enrollment numbers may be down in USD 290, but a few miles down the road in the West Franklin School District, they are seeing an increase in the number of students. USD 287 Superintendent Matt Brenzikofer says last year, they had 579, this year an increase of 16 to 637 students, which will benefit the district financially:
West Franklin transports more students than any other district in the county, adding that the increased number of students may be due to students living in the district and going to other schools, are coming back to West Franklin.
