Gary Brockus, Class of 1974, was enshrined on the Ottawa Wall of Honor last night., September 25th. In high school, he was the Student Council Vice President and earned three varsity letters in basketball and cross country, winning the state championship in 1972 as a team. He received a baseball scholarship to Allen County Community College. When AT & T called Ottawa High looking for a summer intern, the Principal Shepard chose Gary. He worked for four summers with the company before being hired full time after earning his degree. Over his career, he held various management positions in Hutchinson and the state headquarters in Topeka.
