Crimes committed over two years ago in Ottawa finally have an arrest. Ottawa police says 22-year-old Noah Oates of Udall was arrested in connection with crimes that happened on September 16th of 2022. Oates was arrested for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, theft, criminal restraint and criminal possession of a firearm for an incident in the 1300 block of South Beech Street. During the incident, it’s alleged that Oates used weapons, a gun and some type of knife to restrain 79-year-old Ronald Early, assault him, and steal two cell phones and a Nissan Frontier vehicle from him.

Oates was taken into custody in Jaspar Alabama later in 2022 for other crimes committed in that area. Ottawa police detectives traveled to Alabama and worked with local law enforcement to collect further evidence in this case. Finally, October first of this year, Oates was transported back to ottawa by Ottawa police and booked into the Franklin County jail. If convicted of all charges, Oates faces up to 40 years in prison.
