Advanced voting began Wednesday in Miami County, so you don’t have to wait until the November 5th election to vote. Registered voters can vote in person at the Miami County Clerk’s office. The office is open for advance voting from 8:00 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon on weekdays, and evening hours and Saturday hours are being offered on select days. The first of those days is tomorrow, October 19th, from 8:00 to noon, then again on Thursday when the office will be open from 8:00 to 6:00 in the evening.
Miami county is set to have a new county clerk regardless of the outcome of the general election. Republican candidate, Laura Epp, will face Libertarian candidate Eric Lund of Paola in the general election Nov. 5.
The general election ballot also will feature a question asking Miami County voters if they want to renew a quarter-cent sales tax for another five years, to fund road and bridge improvements.
