This week was Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, and the Franklin County Commission approved a proclamation to recognize the event. During the proclamation, commissioners learned that Prairie Paws Animal Shelter has achieved a major milestone. Shelter Director Vanessa Cowie, broke the news to the County Commission:
Cowie also reports that the Manhattan facility is generating a lot of traffic, connecting lost and homeless pets with their forever home.
