Sometimes the Food and Drug Administration goes a little too far. They have recalled 80,000 pounds of butter. Eighty thousand packages of Kirkland salted sweet cream butter and unsweet cream butter, off the shelves and returned all because of a mistake on the labeling. The FDA called it a ‘Class Two’ recall, meaning the use of, or exposure to the butter, may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences. So, what’s so bad about it? Turns out the label on the butter packages was wrong. The ingredient list says it contains cream, but does not say it contains milk. Now, don’t people know that butter is made from milk, or that cream comes from milk? I understand that for people with allergies to milk products, this could be an issue, but, wouldn’t they know?

The butter in question is isolated to a Costco store in Texas, and the recall is voluntary. Hey, if you are hauling that butter and need a place to put it, feel free to drop it off at my house. Might need another fridge to store it in, but…I’ll take it!
