A meeting tonight, November 14th, between Garnett City Manager, Travis Wilson and the engineering firm, Bartlett and West, will discuss progress made toward the planning of Garnett’s new water treatment plant. Wilson says the meeting will hopefully clear up some issues with the KDHE. One of the issues KDHE is having with the design of the new plant involve the use of new technology, one being a ceramic filter.
Commissioners asked Wilson to provide them with a brief summary of the meeting, scheduled for this afternoon, between the parties involved. Garnett would like to get construction started on the new water treatment plant within the next year.
