The Franklin County Commission is discussing the sale of the Cedar Crest property off West 7th Street in Ottawa. County Administrator, Derek Brown, says there have been inquiries about the property. He says it could be a complicated sale, due to the Franklin County Historical Societies storage building being on the property. Commissioner Rod Harris made a motion:
The motion puts the process of selling the property in motion. Commissioners say they can use the proceeds from any sale to help build a building for the Historical Society to use as storage. The current building is climate controlled. Brown says the idea of creating a split lot at Crestview most likely would not meet City of Ottawa regulations and codes.
