We all know how important radio is in broadcasting all kinds of information to rural America. From storm reports, local news and sports, ag conditions and grain prices, and so much more. The importance of AM radio started over 100 years ago. Mark Oppold takes us through the beginnings of radio in rural America:
Radio, particularly AM., is a huge part of rural America still today. Some car manufacturers want to remove AM radio options in new vehicle models. The “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act” in Congress now is looking to require auto manufacturers to keep AM in all vehicles, as it is an essential tool in emergencies and other aspects of rural America.
