A special prosecutor employed by the City of Lyndon announced yesterday that no charges will be filed against former USD 421 Superintendent Bradley Marcotte in connection with his arrest on October 18th, at Lyndon High School. Special Prosecutor Jack Hobbs says that after a thorough review of the evidence submitted by law enforcement, he has determined no charges will be filed regarding the incident, as the evidence is insufficient to sustain convictions on the charges. Marcotte was arrested by the Lyndon Police Department on suspicion of child endangerment and interference with law enforcement.
The initial complaint stated that Marcotte allegedly consumed alcohol and then proceeded to drive a school bus with students on board. The reporting party was listed as Osage County Sheriff Deputy Josh Shepard, who also serves as school resource officer at Lyndon schools. The Lyndon School Board met in an emergency session and decided to terminate Marcotte’s contract due to engaging in acts which materially affects his ability or effectiveness to discharge his duties as superintendent, including but not limited to, intemperance, neglect of duty, general neglect of the business of the district, and unprofessional conduct. The board named former Baldwin Superintendent Paul Dorathy as interim superintendent.
