Another one of Franklin County’s cold cases is the murder of James Heth. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies found Heth’s body along the Marais des Cygnes river in the 300 block of Neosho Road, in an area known as the hollows, on June 6th of 1995. Heth was last seen on April 9th when he left his house in Ottawa to go to the store. Though numerous tips have been submitted to local authorities over the years, the case remains unsolved. Sheriff Jeff Richards says someone out there knows what happened to Heth and he wishes they would come forward.
