Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary – Louisburg Chapel, 1 Aquatic Drive, Louisburg, Kansas 66053. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Louisburg Cemetery, following the funeral service.

Larry was born on October 30, 1950, at the Doc Dickey farm northeast of Louisburg, Kansas. He was the youngest of 10 children to Thomas L. and Betty L. (Calkins) Cutshaw.

Larry graduated from Louisburg High School with the class of 1968, and was a lifelong resident of the community.

On September 6, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart Linda Lou Slawson. From this union they had two sons, Stephen L. and Toby R. Cutshaw.

Larry was a perfectionist in so many ways. Whether it be the way he folded his napkin, or the way he brushed his hair. He managed several ranches in the area and showed Horned Herford for Proud Breed Incorporated. Larry also managed JC Land and Cattle Company, as well as MacNaughton Ranch.

He was a former member of the United Rodeo Association and Middle Creek Riding and Roping Club, participating in calf roping and team roping.

Larry was a mentor to many, giving his upmost advice whether you wanted it or not. He was supportive to his sons as they grew up showing 4-H animals and their rodeo activities. This tradition carried on through his granddaughters also.

In 1982, Larry started Cutshaw Fence Company and was in business for 40 years, before retiring in 2022.

He was an avid hunter and went to South Dakota every year to pheasant hunt with his buddies. Larry never met a stranger and could chat about any topic that came up. He was happiest being outdoors, tending to his cattle and being close to nature.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Betty Cutshaw, and two brothers, John and Tom Cutshaw.

Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Cutshaw, two sons, Steve and Toby Cutshaw, granddaughters, Kara, Kylie, Cadi Cutshaw, and Hagen Draper, three great grandchildren, Wren, DJ, and Lawson, brothers, Donnie, Ronnie, Lonnie, and Gary Cutshaw, sisters, Bonnie Stuteville, Norma Miller, and Connie Gast, as well as many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
