Faye Christine Hunt, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Pomona, Kansas, on December 17, 2024, at the age of 102. Born on April 10, 1922, in Liberal, Kansas, Faye was the daughter of Walter R. and Grace (Huddleston) Jeffers.

She was a proud graduate of Joplin High School and was blissfully united in marriage on January 13, 1940, in Joplin, Missouri, to Ivan Hunt, Sr. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1995. 

Faye dedicated her life to her family and took great joy in her roles as a mother and grandmother. 

Throughout her life, Faye had many interests that reflected her vibrant spirit. She was an avid gardener, whose green thumb brought life and beauty to her surroundings. Faye loved to travel, enjoying countless adventures. Her deep devotion to family was evident in everything she did, and she derived immense joy from witnessing the growth and accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Faye was a respected member of her community, contributing her time and talents as a member of the Oasis Club, the Eastern Star, and the Gardening Club. These affiliations spoke to her commitment to service and connection with others.

She is survived by her son Ivan Hunt Jr. (Rhonda) of Ottawa, Kansas; her daughters Mary Anderson (Larry) of Pomona, Kansas, and Carolyn Galloway of Olathe, Kansas; her brother Ted Jeffers of Joplin, Missouri; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband Ivan, Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Walter Lee Hunt; and five brothers. Her family and friends will remember her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit.

A graveside service will be held on December 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, located on K-68 Highway in Pomona, Kansas. The service will honor her life and legacy, bringing together family and friends to celebrate the remarkable woman she was.

Faye Christine Hunt’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
