As the year comes to an end, I am looking at things I am thankful for, and there are plenty, no matter how bad it seems sometimes. How about groceries. If you think grocery prices are high here, be thankful you don’t live in Kotzebue. There are no roads in or out of the remote city and all supplies have to be flow in, so the prices are very high. Grant Magdanz of Fox News returned to his home town and gives a report of prices at the local grocery store:

Kansans will be a getting a small break in prices starting Wednesday as the state tax on groceries comes to and end. Many will still complain about a gallon of milk casting over $4.00 a gallon, but, I for one, am just thankful it’s not $12.69 like it is in Kotzebue, and it only costs $40.00 to fill my tank, instead of $120.00 like it would in that Alaskan town. Be thankful for what you have.
