The sale of Proximity Park to light Lightfield Energy will start paying dividends to the city on day one. Many BIF economic development projects ask for a 100% tax abatement for the first 10 years of the project. However, in this case, City Attorney Blaine Finch says that does not apply:
Lightfield plans to construct a power plant, ran on natural gas to supply the power needed to house their other facilities, which include data storage and data processing along with a technology department, among other things. They expect to employ 100 people initially, with another 100 jobs possible in future phases of the project.
