Perry Como had it right, across the state of Kansas and the entire nation, the traffic will be terrific. Shawn Steward from AAA says there has been a boon in all kinds of travel with an estimated 1.3 million Kansans will be traveling 50 miles or more from their home during the holidays. That’s from December 21st through January 1st. Lower gas prices are one reason, with the state average at about $2.68 per gallon, 35 cents less than the national average.
AAA expects an uptick in road side assistance calls. Tires and batteries are among the top reasons for getting calls so make sure you’re getting your car checked out, make sure it’s ready for the road trip, so you don’t spend part of your holiday stuck on the side of the road.
