Timothy Louis Collins, affectionately knows as Tim, passed away on December 23, 2024, at Parkview Heights in Garnett, Kansas. He was born on September 16, 1955, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Charles Louis and Monica Elizabeth (Moran) Collins. He grew up on a dairy farm near Williamsburg, Kansas with five sisters and three brothers.

Tim attended grade school and high school at Williamsburg graduating with the class of 1973. He subsequently attended the University of Kansas for two years. In the 1980’s and 1990’s he lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he and his brother John ran a medical supply and equipment delivery service.

Tim returned to Kansas working for the Farmer’s Coop in Harris and Walmart Distribution in Ottawa, KS.

In the 2000’s, Tim moved to Lawrence, Ks and worked as a floor supervisor for Goodyear in Topeka, Kansas, for twelve years until retiring in September of 2022. His dedication to his career was matched by his passions outside of work, which included reading, history, visiting & researching historical sites, and traveling. Family remained a central theme in Tim’s life, and he cultivated deep bonds with his loved ones.

A proud member of St. Patrick’s Church in Emerald, Kansas, Tim also served as a former member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Center in Lawrence, Kansas. These affiliations reflected his faith and commitment to his community.

Tim will be remembered fondly by his surviving family members, which include his sisters Kathy Graves (Denny) of Lawrence, Kansas; Marie Drumm (Robert) of Waverly, Kansas; Regina Wittman (Tony) of Olathe, Kansas; Joan Gagnon (Glen) of Emerald, Kansas; and Peggy Payne (Don) of Lyndon, Kansas. He is also survived by his brother Tom Collins (Ann) of Emerald, Kansas; sister–in-law Myong Collins of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; stepmother Charlene Goscha of Wichita, Kansas; and six step siblings, along with twenty-one nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Tim joins his beloved deceased family members, including his parents and brothers John and Leo Collins, in eternal rest. His legacy of love, faith, and commitment to family and community will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.

 A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Williamsburg, Kansas on December 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The Rosary will be prayed at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, Kansas, on December 29, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Tim’s spirit and warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
