A power outage Monday, December 30th, in Ottawa was caused by a drunk driver. Ottawa police have revealed that Monday night around 11:00 they were called to the 800 block of North Main, in the alley on a report of an injury accident. At the same time, the City of Ottawa reported a power outage in the same area of the accident. Upon arrival at the scene, Ottawa Police, Fire and EMS crews discovered that an intoxicated driver collided with a power pole in the area that resulted in an outage.
City of Ottawa power crews were dispatched to the scene and were able to get the power restored just before 11:30. The driver of the car was treated at the scene and taken into custody for driving under the influence. The name of the driver has not been released as of this morning.
