Lois Marie Dollar age 78 of Osawatomie, KS lost her battle from complications after a stroke on December 23, 2024 at Spring Hill Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Lois was born May 25, 1946 in Paola, KS. She was the eldest of five daughters born to James F. and Theresa M. (Stifter) Dalton. She attended Lane High School and graduated with the last class in 1964. Lois then continued her education for one year at Wichita State University and then she attended Emporia State University earning her bachelors in education and master’s degree in counseling.
In 1968, Lois started working for USD 368. She taught 4th grade, 6th grade science and was a counselor. After 39 years, she retired in 2007. Lois then started doing message therapy out of her home. Along with her sisters, she also took care of her mother.
August of 2008, Lois and Dale Dollar were united in marriage at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola, KS.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Alpha Delta Kapa Sorority.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include; husband Dale of the home, sisters; Janice (Wayne) Doman of Winchester, KS, Marsha (Steve) Scherman of Lane, KS, Linda (Scott) Burkdoll of Princeton, KS and Anita Thoele of Lane, KS. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, her colleagues and sisters of ADK.
