The City of Ottawa wants residents to be safe and be prepared for the upcoming winter storm. They are offering some important tips and resources to keep in mind. Charge your phone and tablets and keep a portable charging device handy if possible. Have flashlights, blankets and candles ready in case of a power outage. Stay off the roads if possible, during heavy snow or ice. Keep your vehicle’s gas tank full and ensure your tires are properly inflated. Dress warmly and wear layers if you need to go outside. Check on neighbors, especially the elderly, to make sure they’re safe.

Power outages will be possible. If your power goes out, call 785-229-3750 and report your location. City crews monitor the call line to help determine the location of the outage and make necessary repairs.
