Cora Jean Brown, age 45, of Ottawa, KS, passed away, Saturday, January 4, 2025 in Ottawa, KS. She was born November 1, 1979 at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, KS the daughter of Charles Albert Brown, Sr. and Lisa (Stubbeman) Huffman. Cora grew up in Ottawa attending Ottawa High School.
Cora was a Daycare owner in Ottawa Kansas for several years following into a daycare worker in Manhattan, KS where she lived for several years. She also worked in the healthcare industry. She attended Neosho and Johnson County community college, and got her associates degree in Science. Cora was a beautiful soul and always put so many people before herself she cared more than she knew she could. There are too many words to describe our Cora Jean; she was the light of everyone’s lives. Any room she walked into she had a smile on her face and put a smile on everyone else’s.
Cora is survived by her son Gabriel Moore, Lawrence, KS; mother, Lisa Huffman, and step father Dennis Huffman Ottawa, KS; three brothers, Charlie Brown, Jr., Ottawa; Jason and Jeremy Huffman and four sisters, Brandy Brown, Anaheim, CA, Audrey Mitchell and her husband, Mike, Great Bend, KS, Allison Brown, Des Moines, Iowa and Tamariah Brown Dunsmuir, California as well as several cousins, nieces, Elyssa Velez and Harlie Brown Ottawa KS and nephew Elias Brown and more; as well as her great nieces and nephews Emiliana Avayah, Avena Valentina and Roman James; and God daughter Lilyanna Oaks.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Brown, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday January, 10, 2024 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa. A visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home at noon on Friday.
