Ottawa had 10 inches of snow with nearly a half inch layer of ice underneath in last weekend’s winter storm. Ottawa schools will not be in session today, missing their second day after the big storm. The county road are the main issue right now, but, the schools and busses themselves are ready to go. So, how did they get everything ready to go in such a short amount of time? Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs says USD 290 has some incredible maintenance and transportation staff:
He added that it may be slow going for some of the bus routes as they are still dealing with some roads that are not fully clear, but, he commended the county road staff for doing all they could to get the roads open as soon as possible.
