Looking for a good place to make a donation to start the new year? Legacy Square, at First and Walnut in Downtown Ottawa was born out of a community vision and has provided immense upgrades to our downtown area. Legacy Square has become a venue for many things in our community: a venue for celebrations, a venue for community gatherings and events, and a key crossroads in Kansas for the trail systems. The Onward Ottawa group raised $5.2 million to make the construction of the park happen. However, they are still in need of $38,000 to fully complete the efforts in Legacy Square.

They are asking for the public’s help. Any donation you make to Onward Ottawa will be directly put toward finishing projects at Legacy Square. To make a donation, contact Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce Director, Ryland Miller, at the Chamber Office. Chairperson of Onward Ottawa, Pam Harris, says Ottawa and Franklin County have a rich legacy to celebrate, in a thriving community that has an exciting future. Improvements like Legacy Square are proof that everyone can work together as a community to progress and will continue building our legacy for years to come.
