Despite the winter weather, the Ottawa Golf Course is getting ready for a fantastic spring season. One thing the new General Manager, Rob Mlynar and Grounds Superintendent, Drew Murphy, wants to do is make the course look generally appealing, as well as removing anything that might be considered a safety hazard from the course. That started last week with the removal of several dead trees. The Ottawa Fire Department was tapped to come in and remove the trees. It’s not known exactly how many trees were removed, but, enough to make the course look great for the upcoming season.
Another new addition arrived in late January. The course received a new fleet of golf carts. The carts are equipped with all the features golfers need for a smooth comfortable ride.
A lot of special programs and events are coming to the course as the city gets ready to showcase it this spring. Check the Ottawa Kansas Golf Course facebook page for more details.
