A proposed solar array north of Ottawa, which would sit on the lake of the Martin Marietta Quarry was in front of the Franklin County Planning Commission last night. Jason Edwards is asking for a special use permit for the project.
At their last meeting, the commission had a long list of questions they wanted him to answer. Commissioners asked if there was a fire, would lead in the soldering of each panel leach into the water. LOH Fire Chief, Allen Durbin explained:
The solar array would power businesses in the area, and excess power would be put on the Evergy grid. Commissioner says they will have to hold another Study Session to gather more information before making a decision on the special use permit.
