Saturday, February 22nd, Master Officer Larabe Alexander with the Ottawa Police Department will embark on a trip of a lifetime. He will be flying to Greece to be part of the Lighting of the Special Olympics Torch that will be used in the World Law Enforcement Torch Run. The trip will be highlighted by a blessing of the flame from the Pope and then an incredible run with the torch to Turin, Italy for the World Games. The torch run is a huge fundraiser:
He is asking for donations to his Polar Plunge in Italy. All the funds will go directly to Special Olympics. The winner of the contest will have the honor of running the torch into Olympic Stadium in Turin. If you would like to donate, there are several ways. All of those posted on KOFO’s facebook page, or feel free to bring monetary donations to the station and we will get them to the right people.
