As this is Kansas Governor Laura Kelly’s last term, candidates to replace her are starting to step forward. One of those is Republican Stacy Rogers. She says she is running because she believes in the power of the people and as a lifelong Kansan and a business owner, she’s seen the challenges the state faces and the state needs a leader that not only listens but takes action to protect rights, improve schools, support local businesses and restore the values that make Kansas great. If elected, she would be the first female Republican Governor in state history. Rogers is a former home school parent and advocates for an educational system that serves all children, especially those with learning disabilities.
Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab has also announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination for Kansas Governor in 2026. The primary election in August will determine which Republican will be on the November General Election ballot.
