A follow up to a previous January detention hearing will be held tomorrow,February 25th, for the 16 year-old Colony youth accused in the arson and destruction of the Colony Community Church. Kaiden Robb was discovered in the smoke-filled church the day after Christmas, as the result of a search following a domestic incident and removed from the scene by a county sheriff’s deputy that evening.

Firefighters believed they had the fire under control, but it rekindled overnight and destroyed the structure the following day. Robb has yet to be arraigned on charges but could face felonies related to arson and aggravated assault in connection with the domestic incident. Anderson County Attorney Steve Wilson says Robb was undergoing a mental evaluation to determine his competency previous to the January hearing.

A detention hearing in a juvenile matter involves a judge’s consideration of evaluations, prior history and other information to determine if the juvenile should be released from detention and if so, under what conditions. Robb’s hearing is set for 9:15 tomorrow morning, before Magistrate Judge Kara Reynolds.
