A rally will take place in Ottawa Saturday, March 8th. It’s being tabbed as the “Fire Elon” rally. Organizers say that Kansans and Americans are shocked and angered by thoughtless, reckless slashing of government jobs and services by Elon Musk. By using the guise of rooting out so-called waste, fraud and abuse. The event is being organized by Franklin County Action Network, or F-CAN, an affiliate of indivisible.org. Indivisible is a nonpartisan, nationwide movement formed following the election of Donald Trump in 2016. Eileen Spickler of F-CAN says, “the Trump-Musk coup is creating massive chaos in our personal and professional lives and causing upheaval across the country”. She says at the rally, people can meet others who want change and want duly elected members of congress to stand up for democracy.
Speakers at the rally in Ottawa will include former candidate for Kansas House District 59, Michael Lewis, and former candidate for Kansas House District 6, Elena Super. The rally will be held at Haley Park, at Second and Main in downtown Ottawa at 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
