The USD 290 School District is losing students and they are making plans to adjust for it. At last night’s school board meeting, March 10th, some of those changes were discussed. Superintendent, Dr. Ryan Cobbs says there will some difficult decisions made and significant changes due to loss of enrollment. The first changes will be at the middle school as lower number of elementary students move in next year.
He says enrollment decreases are state wide, and only a few are seeing increases, and most of those are in the metro area. Cobbs says one reason enrollment is coming down is that couples are not having as many babies anymore.
