The Ottawa City Commission took step forward in getting the taxiway at the airport redone.
Originally, the project was just going to be an overlay, however, a study revealed that the taxiway needed to be replaced. City Manager Brian Silcott went over the bids on the project and the submission of a Federal grant request:
Provided the grant is awarded, they hope to begin construction later this year. Amino Brothers, out of Kansas City, has worked on Federal Aviation Administration projects before. With the grant, the FAA will pay for 95% of the taxiway project.
