
It’s a no go for a solar energy project north of Ottawa. The Franklin County Planning Commission listened to a proposal by Jason Edwards to install a solar array on an old quarry lake north of Ottawa. Edwards was asking for special use permit to build the project. After over an hour of discussion and public comment, the commission voted to deny the permit. Following the unanimous vote, commission members had this discussion about the use of solar in Franklin County:
The recommendation will be sent to the County Commission for final review. They have the option to follow the Planning Commission’s recommendation or, go ahead and approve it.
