When you have an accident in your vehicle, whether it only involves your vehicle or multiple vehicles, the first rule is contact 9-1-1 and stay on scene until emergency personnel get there. If not, there are consequences. A Richmond man found that out Tuesday March 24th. Just after 7:30 that morning, 44-year-old Seth Landie traveling in the 1800 block of California Road, left the road for an unknown reason, went through several sections of fence and took out a hay bale feeder and rolled his vehicle. He left the scene with another person in a red truck before law enforcement arrived.
That truck was stopped in the 700 block of Beech in Ottawa. Landie was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, no driver’s license, interference with law enforcement, expired registration and no proof of insurance. Law enforcement says all occupants of any vehicle in an accident must stay at the scene until first responders arrive and assess the scene.
