
Carrie Ann Clemmons, age 76 of Osawatomie, KS passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be 1:30PM, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, with visitation prior to services at 1PM. Interment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carrie Clemmons Memorial Fund in care of Wilson’s, PO Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
Carrie Ann Clemmons was born August 10, 1948 in rural Paola, the daughter of Harry Jack Bryan and Clara Adelle (Brewer) Catron. She grew up in Paola and attended the Paola schools. Carrie married Jesse Torrez, Sr. in 1967 and to this union, 5 children were born. Carrie was a homemaker while raising her children and she and her husband started the “Bus Ministry”, picking up children from Osawatomie to Spring Hill, taking them to church on Sunday mornings. She later went back to college to earn her CNA certification. In 1994, she married Otis Clemmons. They pastored the Church of Faith together for many years in Bonner Springs. They were married for 12 years before his passing in 2012. Carrie later had a house keeping business before she retired for health reasons. She enjoyed game shows and westerns and spending time with her family in Colorado. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Carrie is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Torrez of Paola, KS; son, Jesse Torrez, Jr. (Melanie) of Paola, KS; daughter, Stephanie Mason (Derek) of Richmond; KS; daughter, Melanie Torrez of Osawatomie, KS; 9 grandchildren: Eric Heinzelman of St. Joseph, MO; Brian Heintzelman of Leavenworth, KS; Jessica Torrez of Paola, KS; Daniel Heintzelman of Easton, KS; Keith Torrez of Lee’s Summit, MO; Spencer Torrez of Paola, KS; Ashley Torrez of Paola, KS; Alyssa Torrez of Paola, KS; Justice Mason of Richmond, KS; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Shelly Renee Torrez (1967), son-in-law, Robert Jamison (2020), brothers, Delmar Catron and Loren Catron (Evelina), and several nephews.
