Kenneth McMillan, age 89, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Anderson County Hospital in Garnett.

He was born on October 13, 1935, in Garnett, Kansas, the youngest son of Harlen and Jessie (Johnson) McMillan. Kenny attended school in Garnett and graduated with the class of 1954. After high school he became a mechanic and went to work for Stockebrand Motors. He dedicated 47 plus years to General Motors before retiring from Beckman Motors.

Kenny was united in marriage to Barbara Hull on May 6, 1966 in Miami, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with two children, Penny and Mike. Kenny and Barbara made many memories together in their life. Together, they shared a love for rodeos, caring for their horses, and being active members of the square dancing club. Their adventures were plentiful, and they created lasting memories through their love of music shows and attending PBR events. Spending time with friends, whether it was playing cards, going on vacations or planning future get togethers, it was always a cherished time. Family was everything to Kenny, they loved their family dinners with everyone together. Kenny and Barbara were dedicated grandparents, lovingly helping care for their grandchildren when they were young, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

During his high school years, Kenny shared his love for cars with friends, and together, they rebuilt and restored vehicles, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. His hands were always busy, whether working on his next project or enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Kenny had a true passion for the outdoors, whether it was fishing, gardening, or simply spending time in nature. He was a creative spirit, often found tinkering crafting unique masterpieces from antlers and horseshoes.

Kenny was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners, Square Dancing Club and Saddle Club.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike McMillan; brother, Glen McMillan and sister, Bonnie.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara McMillan; daughter, Penny Bell and spouse Bob Pretz of Richmond, Kansas; grandchildren, Luke Lankard, Page Webb and husband Dustin; great-grandchildren, Sophee and Tuck Lankard, Derrick, Michael, and Charlotte Webb; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M.,Thursday, April 4, 2025 at the First Christian Church, Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Springfield Cemetery, Garnett, Kansas. Kenny’s family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett.
