Jo Diane Miller, age 73, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Jo Diane Weatherbie was born on June 12, 1951, at home, in Lane, Kansas, to Frank and Blanche (Farrar) Weatherbie. She graduated from Central Heights School with the Class of 1969. Following high school she was united in marriage to Jerry Miller on July 12, 1969. Two weeks after marrying, she joined her husband in Germany as he served in the military. This union was blessed with four children, Jody, Justin “Tater”, Jared, Jordan.

A very proud mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished friend, Jo Diane found her deepest fulfillment in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love knew no bounds. With twelve grandchildren to call her “Grandma/Grams,” she shared a special bond with each of them, especially the eldest five-fondly known as the “Original 5.” Whether she was pulling them down to the creek on a trailer to play, laugh, and create lifelong memories, or simply spending quiet time together, her love was a constant.

She dedicated over 20 years of service to the Anderson County Health Department, where her work ethic and compassion made a lasting impact. Outside of work, Jo Diane lived life fully and joyfully. She loved to read, crochet, and dance-and she especially cherished joining her sister Hazel in talent shows, where they made memories that would last a lifetime. Known for her big personality, she never met a stranger and never hesitated to share her thoughts. Her kitchen was often filled with the smells of fresh-baked goods, which she joyfully shared with her family. She loved to laugh, tell stories, and enjoy a cold beer in the company of her loved ones.
