Norma Ruth Droege, 91, of Topeka, KS passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Legend at Capital Ridge in Topeka, KS.  She was born on October 6, 1932 in Fort Worth, TX the daughter of Roy and Mae (Madera) Calcote.  She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1949. 

Norma married John W. “Jack” Droege on October 3, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV.  They lived in Scranton, KS until John’s passing on September 24, 2019. 

Norma worked various jobs over her lifetime, including clerical work, owning a Radio Shack, and a toll booth operator for the Kansas Turnpike.  Her life was filled with her home and family.  She was a great cook and her children and grandchildren all had their own special favorite meals.  Her cookie jar was never empty.  Norma was always working a jigsaw puzzle and would love to challenge anyone to a game of Scrabble, which she usually won.

Mrs. Droege was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John. 

Surviving family includes her four children, son, Dave (Susie) Murray of Plano, TX, daughter, Terry (Norman) Pack of Yulee, FL, Don (Dawn) Hand of Kansas City, MO and Larry Hand of Topeka, KS; two step-sons, Brian (Christi) Droege of Burlingame, KS and Chad (Melissa) Droege of Burlingame, KS;  numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and Inurnment will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Palliative and Hospice Care or the Humane Society and may be sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
