BALDWIN CITY — The Baldwin City Council plans a public meeting on a proposed quarter-cent increase of the city’s sales tax. The sales tax proposal will be on the ballot Nov. 3. The city wants the quarter-cent increase to be used for facilities. The city said that the sales tax will drop by a half-cent next spring. That was used to pay for the city pool and because it will be paid off early; that part of the sales tax ends March 31.
The public meetings on the sales tax will be scheduled for mid-October.
